Read about the six COOL NEW cell phone features you can expect in your new smartphone within MONTHS, not YEARS! Cell phones are a continual link to the world around us. Therefore, it is no surprise that with changes in technology cell phones are only going to get more advanced. Below are 6 new features to expect in your futuristic new cell phone, or shall we say, "smart phone"?
It is amazing to see how far the cell phone has come. They are becoming thinner and compact giving us more control. With organic light-emitting diode technology you will soon be able fold and unfold your cell phone into your pocket. This mind bending idea does not seem possible, but it is a piece of technology very much in development and implementation. You might even be able to turn your cell phone into a wearable watch or headset.
Getting a signal will also be something which receives a futuristic overhaul. Right now, not every location is able to get a clear signal and many people are turning to cell phone signal boosters to fix the problem. However, within the next few years 5G will make an appearance. As to what form it will take is anyone's guess, rest assured though, a clear signal will potentially be a legal requirement for every home.
Most of us already experience and use voice control with our cell phones. Apple have been developing this technology for some time with Siri. They are always making changes in order for it to be more responsive and intuitive to our voices. In years to come voice recognition will give us total control over how we complete day to day tasks.
There are a few devices on the market already using 3D technology, such as the LG Optimus 3D and Samsung AMOLED 3D. This new feature might seem like a gimmick at the moment but it is only going to get more advanced. Looking ahead to the future will see the introduction of hologramatic images which will incorporate 3D. So those holiday photos could be pulled towards you and manipulated, placing you right into the image.
Augmented reality is something which is being trialled today. AR uses our senses to give a 360 degree experience of our surroundings by using sound, video and even graphics. Using your cell phone’s camera, you can point to a particular object or destination to get live information about it. This could mean that online search as we know it could significantly change.
Projectors can be handy things, think gaming and business meetings. Fitting a projector into a cell phone is a distinct possibility. It has been tried before with the Samsung Galaxy Beam a few years ago. Using your body and voice to interact with images on screen feels like something out of a sci-fi movie, but it could be a reality soon.
Of course, the downside of some of the cool features is their tendency to diminish battery life, or duration between charges. However, this can be addressed with technological research and testing for better battery technologies like the lithium polymer. Li-Poly (versus current mostly used technology Lithium Ion or Li-Ion) is lighter in weight, yet packs more punch of power. However, that is a whole new blog about futuristic batteries I'd like to write about in the near future!
