Get quick and easy instructions with video demonstration below showing how to turn off VoLTE or HD Voice, on any Android or iOS Apple iPhone. The reason for disabling VoLTE or HD Voice may be that your LTE signal is weak/ poor and that prevents you from making a wireless phone call. Switching to other network like 2G or 3G would atleast enable you to make the call although the call quality may not be as good as you're used to hearing and be heard on your Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) network or High Definition Voice (HD Voice). Press, "play" on the video below or read step by step instructions provided below to disable HD Voice or VoLTE on your Android smartphone like Samsung Galaxy, LG, HTC, etc. or your Apple iPhone 5/ 5s/ 6/ 6s/ 7/ 7s/ 8/ 8s Plus.

Many phones are now capable of using VoLTE, often referred to as HD voice to send their calls over the stronger LTE band. But this can come with its share of problems. We have seen issues where you're unable to make a call if you're in areas without that VoLTE signal, or your LTE signal is just bad in a given area. If you have got your VoLTE turned on, then you may have problems and you may not be able to place a call. Fortunately, there is a solution.
If you're in this situation, try turning VoLTE off. To turn off VoLTE on an iPhone 6 or newer, go into your phone, tap "Settings". Then go to, "Cellular". Then go to, "Cellular Data Options". Enable LTE and switch this to data only. Go back to your home screen and toggle Airplane mode on and off which resets your phone to the new settings. Now you should be able to make a call because you will be using other default network which is 3G or 2G which can also carry voice traffic.
For an Android device go to, "Settings". Then go to, "Advanced Calling". Then go to, "Wireless networks". Tap on "Advanced Calling" and turn it to, "Off".
To turn on VoLTE or HD Voice, follow the same procedure shown above except of course choose the other option provided.
