weBoost pro signal meter kit is an RF signal detector. This Quad-Band signal detector can be used to find the stronger cellular signal in any area. The weBoost 470118 is a quad-band signal detector. This is why it has ability to locate signals at a very impressive accuracy. Previously sold as Wilson 460118, now the newer version is part number SKU 470118. When the signal booster locates a cellular signal, it will display the signal attributes on the display screen. The signal detector does come with its own built-in antenna. It can also be connected to a wide range of weBoost antennas for improved accuracy. When paired with weBoost antennas, you can use an amplifier to map out a local cellular frequency environment. Using the signal detector, you can then find the direction of the local cell tower with the strongest signal.

To power the unit on, you must press and hold the power button. Once it powers up, the backlight will come up and you will be able to see the meter easily.
One of the things you want to be aware of when you're doing a site survey is taking multiple measurements around the structure. This will allow you to determine where the strongest signal is coming from, and that helps you determine where to mount your outside antenna. It is very critical that you take multiple measurements in a site survey.
Once you get to the job site and you start taking measurements what you will want to focus on, is the channel power section of the meter. To get the channel power section, you simply hold down the power button to get to the menu. Once in the menu, you will then select channel power and go into that section of the meter.
In the channel power section, you want to focus primarily on the 800 Mhz and 1900 Mhz frequency block because that is where most of the voice is carried with all of the providers.
You can bounce from frequency to frequency by hitting the power button or the hold button. Once you get on the channel A 800 block, you will want to take these measurements and write them down. Once there, you will be able to see on the meter that it is measuring roughly a -49 with is a good strong signal.
If you hit the arrow key, it is going to take you to channel B on the 800 block: A prime and B prime. Write all these numbers down as you cycle through them. And as mentioned before, you want to do this at multiple points.
Once you have 800Mhz frequencies written down, select the band again and it will take you over to 1900Mhz. This is where you can repeat this process by writing down the measurements in channel A, channel D, channel B, channel E and finally channel F.
If you write all of these numbers down at multiple points around the site, you can take that information with you back, sit down on your computer, look up the frequencies and the carriers where they are provided. This will tell you whether it is a Verizon or AT&T, etc. and which block it is on, and which frequency. With this information you will then be able to determine what the signal strength is, and how to design the system.
To power the unit off, you simply push and hold and select enter.
