Wireless Emergency Alert Capable Cell Phones

Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAs) are free emergency cellular notifications that are sent to smart phones as part of a new public safety system provided by authorized senders. They alert and inform about imminent threats to personal safety or alerts regarding missing boys or girls and missing men and women in area of recipient's mobile phone.

In order to receive Wireless Emergency Alerts, you must have a capable device and be located in an area such a city, county, state, or country as targeted by authorized senders to receive the alert. See below for the list of WEA capable phones and instructions on how to ensure the setting on that phone is set to receive wireless emergency alerts. Read WEA frequently asked questions and/or read our W.E.A. blog post for other basic details that may be helpful.
